Guests enjoyed a sensory-friendly performance of The Giver at the Omaha Community Playhouse.
In the story, twelve-year-old Jonas lived in a utopian society with no war, no pain, and no memories. All of life’s choices—from occupation to family—were dictated by the government to maintain perfect order and equality. When Jonas was chosen by The Giver to bear the memories of his society, both past and present, he discovered the truth behind his seemingly perfect world. The performance invited audiences to reflect on Jonas’s choice: would he fall in line or risk everything to forge a new path?
