In partnership with the Munroe-Meyer Institute and Kiewit Luminarium, Common Senses explored the history and importance of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Used by more than two million people, AAC has been developed to compensate for or supplement speech through both high-tech and low-tech modalities. The exhibition traced its evolution—from early 1920s letter boards, to the first portable device, the Auto Monitoring Communication Board, to today’s advanced digital tools.
The AAC Retrospective was on view at the Kiewit Luminarium.
